Jan Wise, CFP®, ChFC®, MBA

Jan began her career in banking in 1987 and started her own financial planning firm in 1994 as an independent financial advisor. Securities registered and insurance licensed in Connecticut, New York, and multiple other states, Jan holds the Chartered Financial Consultant® designation and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.

Jan offers financial planning, incorporating a systematic and holistic approach. She specializes in providing life planning, portfolio management, insurance, and tax strategies for her clients. As a registered representative and investment adviser representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, member FINRA/SIPC, and a Registered Investment Adviser, she is a truly independent advisor who offers unique guidance in assisting others in achieving their life goals.

Born in New Mexico, Jan settled in Connecticut and completed her BS at Bryant College in 1985. She obtained her MBA from the University of New Haven in 1992. During her years as an advisor, she has received multiple achievement awards and served as a national training consultant to American Express Financial Advisors.

In 2004, Jan merged her practice with Jane to form Best Wise Associates. They now provide quality financial guidance throughout the country.

Jan believes in giving back to the community, and she has been a leading fund-raiser for the March of Dimes, the American Lung Association, and Rotary International.

In addition to her community work, Jan focuses her charitable efforts on animal rescue. She started and manages a charity, Last Chance Farm Sanctuary in Tennessee, that provides rescue services for dogs and horses. Most dogs are rescued from high-kill shelters and horses from slaughter auctions. These animals are then provided a permanent home on the sanctuary property or placed in new homes based on their unique circumstances.

Jan and her husband, Jeff, have three children. When not working with animals, they enjoy football, wrestling, scuba diving, skiing, and riding motorcycles.

Jan works closely with approximately 250 families to help ensure that they too can live their dream and focus on their passions in life. Best Wise Associates provides comprehensive and holistic wealth advisory services to their clients.
